Performance Installation (Pilot Project)
Commissioned by Bosch Parade
‘s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands

The classic tradition of musical craftsmanship is reworked in a floating performance, where the synergy between musicians and instruments is accentuated.

InstruMen II is an avant-garde musical performance that reimagines traditional craftsmanship by physically merging musicians and their instruments into one. Inspired by Hieronymus Bosch’s “musical hell” (from the right panel of the triptych painting ‘Garden of Earthly Delights’, 1490-1510), this pilot project premiered at the Bosch Parade. It aims to push boundaries and explore a singular synergy of sound and movement, evoking Bosch’s surreal and dark vision of the human condition and the afterlife.
